By 14.00 hours on Friday 8th, the campers were pouring into the Borders Union Showground in the fantastic setting of Kelso - but less than 45 miles away it was 'poring' in the Scottish capital and cars were seen floating down roads!
There was a definite party atmosphere during the show and despite the weather (it rained like a tropical storm on Saturday) spirits were not dampend, although everything else was and in true biker fashion - the show went on!
Saltire Suzuki and Edinburgh Harley Davidson both had an array of product, static and available for demo rides, Full Throttle's Wheelie machine was kept busy from Friday through till the early hours of Sunday morning, traders were reporting good business and the Crazy Club Games continued through the rain!
Sadly one casualty of the bad weather was the planned ride-out through the wonderful Borders countryside, after only 30 mins into it the only sensible course of action was to return home, change and hit the bar!
Sunday proved to be a better day all round, the sun even appeared so that meant the obligatory Cavalcade of Clubs parade was enjoyed by all without having to seek shelter from the rain, the Best in Show display was well supported and the appearance of two bikers from the Riders for Health charity as they undertook a four furthest points challenge meant that the crowds had a great variety of entertainment during the weekend.
One day we'll put the show on in glorious sunshine....but then again one day I'll win the lottery!
