Edinburgh was chosen as the host city for the 2011 SELEX Galileo senior management conference 2011 and after numerous venue options The George Hotel was considered most appropriate.
In 2009, The Mulberry Group successfully delivered this event on behalf of the client and as a result were appointed with the undertaking to repeat the success again in 2011. Working closely with the in-house communications team, we devised a unique conference platform, produced and co-managed
the programme.
With delegates attending from Italy, the US and the UK, the event had to be seamless and from delegate registration until the final closing remarks by the CEO we think we delivered and met expectations.
‘The George Hotel provided the perfect setting,’ said Mulberry MD Martin Chick, ‘From the moment the event was confirmed with in Autumn 2010 the process of ensuring delivery for the client was extremely well managed’.
The set that was devised was challenging for the speakers (in the round, no lectern and nowhere to hide!) but we wanted to create a sense of unity and togetherness between the speakers and the delegates. After rehearsals to iron out any possible doubts, the ‘live’ deliveries were pretty much perfect, the messages received and our objectives achieved!
After the opening sessions on day one, delegates got the opportunity to sample some serious Scottish hospitality and enjoyed a gala dinner complete with Piper, a magnificent address to the Haggis and to finish the evening, a few whisky’s to sample courtesy of The George Hotel and the Scottish Whisky Experience.
