Summer just didn't seem to happen and it was still too early for the Winter Blues so what better theme to adopt for a late summer celebration than Purple and Silver!
A rural setting with a touch of glitz was the back drop for an evening of fun, laughter and....Ferret racing!!!!
These racing Ferrets were sponsored by 'team-owners' and then all bets were placed. The money raised (which was quite a significant sum) was split between two charities. In keeping with the relaxed atmosphere, further entertainment was provided by one of the UK's leading ceilidh bands, Geckoes and with the help of a very patient 'caller', people enjoyed the atmosphere of the 'gathering'..although few we suspect mastered the dances!
The evening was still young and people danced the night away to the sounds of 80's classic pop and all in all the party was a real 'Smash Hit'!
