It was Mallets and Balls with twist!
Was it possible in just 7 hours to get 32 people, some of whom had never sat on a horse before, let alone ridden one, to play polo by the end of the day? The answer was.....YES and what fun they had doing it.
We needed to offer our client, ZS Associates something different and after a short coach ride from London to Fifield just outside of Windsor, their day began with refreshments before dividing into groups, and under the supervision of some great high goal players (not to mention 2 of the current England under 21 team stars) started to be taught the basics of the game of Polo.
Every element of basic training was covered and just to get their 'eye-in', each group played bicycle polo before moving onto the four legged beasts!
The weather was perfect and by lunchtime everyone was eager to try the real thing. But first, there was the small matter of enjoying an authentic Argentinean BBQ (without the beer) and then it was back to the action with our teams competing for the prestigious title of "Team of the Day".
It wasn't too long before a few 'ringers' surfaced and at least two guests were in fact thoroughly proficient riders! The day ended with smiles, happy memories and in the morning........some aches and pains in places they didn't even know existed!

The day was rounded off perfectly with an exhibition match from two top class High Goal Teams (who were somewhat faster in their horsemanship skills)
